Halloween Spider Treats

Involving children in holiday treats is a wonderful way to encourage creativity in a family activity. These spiders are a perfect example of how simple it can be and they look so cool when you are finished! Serves 2.

Kitchen Dads™ - Halloween Spider Treats

Prep Time: 15 mins
Cook Time: 30 mins
Yields: 2 servings

  • Frosting in tube or peanut butter
  • Handful of twist pretzels (not the straight ones)
  • Candy eyes or M&Ms (be sure all are edible and no plastic)

  1. Finally, we have to put the eyes onto the spider. Start off by placing a small dab of icing or peanut butter where you plan to place the eyes. Then place the eyes or M&Ms onto the icing.
  2. If the doughnut is coated, use a knife and make little holes in the side to prevent crumbling the coating. Insert the pretzel spider legs into the holes. (Probably not necessary if you are using brownies.) Put four “legs” on each side of the doughnut or brownie. Note: If the pretzel is too big, you can break a little bit off of it so that it fits.
