For a gnarly Halloween snack, make some witch fingers. This is a great treat to involve youngsters. Serves 1 to 4.
Kitchen Dads™ - Halloween Witches Fingers
Prep Time: 15 mins
Cook Time: 30 mins
Yields: 1 to 4 servings
Jelly (cherry or strawberry)
Add jelly to the end of the finger opposite the almond so that it looks “bloody”.
Flatten the bread one slice at a time using a rolling pin.
Put a thin coat of peanut butter onto the flattened bread.
Roll up the bread with the peanut butter on the inside so that it forms the shape of a finger. If the bread doesn’t stick, then add a touch of peanut butter to close.
Cut the top of the bread at an angle so that it looks like the tip of a finger.
Press the almond at the tip of the bread where the “fingernails” would be. Put a dab of peanut butter on each indentation. Press in one almond on top of the peanut butter on the tip of each finger. Wipe off any excess peanut butter.
Make small incisions where the finger would “bend” (just below the fingernail and the middle of the finger).
